Measurement Lab speed tests
When you explicitly start a test, your browser connects directly to Measurement Lab (M-Lab) public infrastructure. M-Lab collects network measurement information, including the public-facing IP address, and test results may become part of M-Lab's public research datasets. Review the M-Lab Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy before testing.
Consent and test traffic
TinySpeedTest does not start a measurement automatically. The test button is enabled only after you accept the data notice. Download and upload payloads flow directly between your browser and M-Lab; they are not proxied through the TinySpeedTest business server.
Results and access tokens
TinySpeedTest displays the result in your browser and does not provide a server-side test history. M-Lab Locate URLs can contain temporary access tokens; TinySpeedTest does not log or display those URLs.
Website usage data
Our hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and diagnostic logs to deliver and secure the website. Optional analytics or advertising, if enabled, are subject to the site's cookie consent controls.
